This piece draws inspiration from Zakia's collaborative work with Soil Generation and their forthcoming publication, Soul ReIntegration: An Artistic Self Exploration & Healing Journey Curriculum Guidebook. While reflecting on Prompt #4, “Navigating My Darkness,” Zakia engaged with the translated Buddhist practice and text, Feeding Your Demons by Tsultrim Allione, to explore and heal her relationship with her personal demon. In this work, Zakia confronts her demon's desires and demands for worship and acknowledgment, ultimately liberating herself from a prison of shame.
